Senior Analytical Scientist - Pharmaceutical Analysis

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Analytical Scientist to join their pharmaceutical analysis team in Sheffield . This critical role involves developing, validating, and executing analytical methods for the characterization and quality control of pharmaceutical products. You will utilize a range of sophisticated analytical instrumentation and contribute to ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality of our client's medicines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, extensive experience with various analytical techniques, and a thorough understanding of regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for the testing of APIs, intermediates, and finished drug products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine testing and stability studies according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and optimize analytical methods and instrumentation.
• Analyze and interpret analytical data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Prepare comprehensive analytical reports, method validation protocols, and regulatory documentation.
• Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance within the analytical team.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical development and testing.
• Extensive hands-on experience with HPLC , GC, and various spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, FTIR).
• Strong understanding of ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical analysis.
• Experience with method validation and transfer.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong report-writing capabilities.
