About the Role

Our client, a renowned animation studio in Manchester , is seeking a visionary Senior Animation Director to guide the creative vision and execution of their upcoming animated features and series. You will be responsible for overseeing the animation team, ensuring the artistic quality, style, and technical execution align with the director's and studio's vision. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of animation principles, character performance, and pipeline management. You will be instrumental in bringing stories to life through exceptional animation, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment within one of the UK's leading animation houses.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the animation department throughout the production pipeline.
• Ensure the highest standards of artistic quality and performance in all animated sequences.
• Collaborate closely with directors, storyboard artists, and asset creators to define character performance and visual style.
• Provide clear and constructive feedback to animators, guiding their work towards project goals.
• Develop and refine animation pipelines, tools, and workflows to maximize efficiency and creativity.
• Mentor and inspire a team of talented animators, fostering their professional growth.

Requirements

• Significant experience (7+ years) as an Animation Director or Lead Animator in feature film or high-end television animation.
• Mastery of 3D animation software (e.g., Maya, Blender) and principles of animation.
• Proven ability to direct character performance, emotion, and action.
• Strong understanding of storytelling, cinematography, and visual development.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
