About the Role
Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce platform, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Security Engineer to join their dedicated security team in Liverpool . This role is crucial for ensuring the security of all software applications developed and deployed by the company. You will work closely with development teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), identify and mitigate application-level vulnerabilities, and contribute to a secure coding culture. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced application security professional to play a key role in safeguarding a high-traffic online platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate security best practices into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Conduct security reviews of application designs, source code, and deployments.
- Perform application security testing , including static (SAST) and dynamic (DAST) analysis.
- Develop and maintain security testing tools and frameworks.
- Respond to and investigate application security incidents.
- Provide training and guidance to development teams on secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in application security engineering or a related security role.
- Strong understanding of common web application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and mitigation techniques.
- Proficiency in SAST and DAST tools, as well as security code review processes.
- Experience with secure coding standards and frameworks.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and tools is highly desirable.
