About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Architect with expertise in urban design and masterplanning to join their forward-thinking, fully remote team. This is a significant opportunity to lead the conceptualization and strategic development of large-scale urban regeneration projects and strategic masterplans. You will be responsible for driving design excellence, ensuring strategic coherence, and fostering collaborative relationships with clients, local authorities, and development partners. The role demands a strong understanding of spatial planning, placemaking, and sustainable urban development principles. Ideal for an experienced architect who excels in strategic thinking, complex problem-solving, and influencing design outcomes within a remote-first, collaborative digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of strategic masterplans and urban design frameworks for significant projects.
- Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and stakeholder engagement to inform design strategies.
- Develop compelling design narratives, concept sketches, and high-level visualizations to communicate design intent.
- Ensure designs respond effectively to social, economic, environmental, and cultural contexts.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including urban planners, landscape architects, and engineers, in a remote setting.
- Contribute to securing planning permissions and stakeholder buy-in for ambitious urban development proposals.
Requirements
- Qualified Architect with extensive experience in urban design and masterplanning .
- Demonstrable track record of leading complex, large-scale projects from concept through to planning submission.
- Strong understanding of planning policy, development frameworks, and sustainable urbanism.
- Excellent graphical and presentation skills, with proficiency in relevant design software.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities, suited for remote collaboration.
