About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Architectural Lighting Designer to elevate the aesthetic and functional qualities of diverse projects within the Arts & Entertainment sector and beyond, in Sheffield . You will lead the design process for innovative lighting schemes, working closely with architects, interior designers, and clients to create atmosphere, highlight features, and enhance user experience. This role demands a deep understanding of light as an artistic and technical medium, coupled with strong leadership and client-facing skills. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, specifying, and overseeing the implementation of lighting solutions that are both beautiful and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop creative and technically sound lighting design concepts for a range of projects, from concept to completion.
- Produce detailed lighting design documentation, including calculations, drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Specify lighting fixtures, controls, and equipment, ensuring compliance with project requirements and energy efficiency standards.
- Collaborate effectively with architectural teams, interior designers, and clients to integrate lighting seamlessly into the overall design.
- Conduct site visits to oversee the installation of lighting systems and ensure design intent is realized.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in architectural lighting design.
- Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g., DIALux, Relux) and 3D modeling/rendering tools.
- Strong understanding of lighting technology, controls, and relevant industry standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills.
- A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality architectural lighting projects.
