About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking architectural practice based in Wolverhampton , is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to lead the technical design and delivery of diverse projects. You will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and managing the building regulations process. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant legislation, along with strong leadership skills to guide a team of technologists and technicians. You will play a key part in ensuring the successful and compliant execution of designs from concept to completion, working remotely to support projects nationwide and contributing to sustainable building practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical design information, including drawings, specifications, and schedules for construction.
- Manage and coordinate the building regulations and planning application processes.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure design intent is met and issues are resolved efficiently.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and quality, providing technical support as needed.
- Mentor and guide junior architectural technologists and technicians.
- Ensure all technical documentation complies with relevant UK building standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Architectural Technologist , with a portfolio showcasing a range of project types.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other relevant design tools.
- Thorough knowledge of UK building regulations, construction methods, and materials.
- Experience in managing projects through the full design and construction lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and manage workloads independently.
