Senior Architectural Technologist

About the Role

Our client, an innovative architectural firm with a strong presence in the South West, is seeking a skilled Senior Architectural Technologist to join their remote team. This role is perfect for an individual passionate about technical detailing and construction, who thrives in a flexible and autonomous working environment. You will be responsible for developing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Building Information Models (BIM) for a range of exciting projects, from residential developments to commercial spaces. Contributing to high-quality project delivery, you'll work collaboratively with architects and consultants, ensuring that designs are translated into practical and buildable solutions across the Devon region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical drawings, construction documents, and specifications using advanced CAD and BIM software.
• Ensure all technical designs comply with UK building regulations, planning policies, and industry best practices.
• Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical queries and coordinate information.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and construction phase support.
• Mentor junior technologists and contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards within the team.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree) in Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in architectural practice, with a focus on technical design.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential; experience with BIM Level 2 workflows is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and UK building regulations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
