Senior Audio Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Audio Technician to join their technical team in Reading . This role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio systems for a variety of live events, conferences, and performances. You will work alongside sound engineers and production managers to ensure seamless audio delivery and high-quality sound reproduction. Key Responsibilities

• Set up, test, and operate sound equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, speakers, and playback systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of audio equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Assist sound engineers with mixing and monitoring during live events and rehearsals.
• Manage audio inventory, conduct stock checks, and assist with equipment procurement and repairs.
• Ensure all audio setups comply with safety regulations and project specifications.

Requirements

• Significant experience as an Audio Technician or in a similar technical role within the Arts & Entertainment industry.
• Proficiency with professional audio consoles, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and various audio software.
• Strong understanding of signal flow, acoustics, microphone techniques, and sound reinforcement principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, manual dexterity, and the capacity to work effectively as part of a team, often under time constraints.
