Senior Auditor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Auditor to join their internal audit team based in Bristol . This role is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, evaluating financial and operational processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. You will lead audit engagements, manage audit staff, and communicate findings and recommendations to senior management. This is a key opportunity to contribute to the integrity and efficiency of the organization's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document internal audits in accordance with professional standards.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and areas of non-compliance.
• Develop practical recommendations for improving internal controls and business processes.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
• Supervise and mentor junior auditors, providing guidance and review of their work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in internal or external auditing.
• Strong understanding of auditing principles, internal controls (e.g., COSO framework), and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to interact professionally at all levels.
