About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Automotive Buyer to join their procurement team in Nottingham . This role is instrumental in sourcing and negotiating the acquisition of automotive parts, components, and materials essential for manufacturing and aftermarket services. You will be responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the supply chain's efficiency and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the automotive supply chain, and a proactive approach to market analysis, contributing to the company's operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing and procurement of automotive parts, raw materials, and services, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost reductions and optimize supply chain performance.
• Manage and develop strong, long-term relationships with key automotive suppliers, monitoring their performance.
• Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and pricing fluctuations.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, with a significant focus on the automotive industry .
• Demonstrated success in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive components, manufacturing processes, and supply chain dynamics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex procurement challenges.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
