About the Role
Our client, a leader in automotive innovation, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to join their expanding, fully remote security team. This critical role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures for next-generation vehicles. You will be responsible for safeguarding vehicle networks and data against evolving threats, working with a distributed team of security and engineering professionals. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of embedded systems security, network protocols, and cryptographic techniques, coupled with a passion for automotive technology. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and architectures for automotive electronic control units (ECUs) and in-vehicle networks.
- Identify security vulnerabilities and threats throughout the automotive product lifecycle, from design to deployment and operation.
- Design and integrate security solutions, including encryption, authentication, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure boot mechanisms.
- Conduct security risk assessments, threat modeling, and penetration testing for automotive systems.
- Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to embed security best practices into development processes.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements impacting the automotive industry.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation for automotive cybersecurity.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on cybersecurity matters to internal teams and external partners.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with a significant focus on embedded systems and the automotive industry .
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including cryptography, network security, secure coding practices, and threat modeling.
- Experience with automotive cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 21434, UN R155, AUTOSAR Cybersecurity).
- Proficiency in security analysis tools, penetration testing techniques, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems, RTOS, and automotive communication protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers in a remote working environment.
