Senior Automotive Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Design Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote engineering team. This role focuses on conceptualizing and developing advanced automotive components and systems, driving innovation in vehicle design. You will leverage your expertise in CAD software and your understanding of material science to create designs that meet stringent performance, safety, and aesthetic requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of automotive components and systems from concept through to production.
• Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Conduct FEA analysis and simulations to validate designs for performance, durability, and safety.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
• Generate technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on design challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive design engineering .
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software and familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
• Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and automotive standards.
• Experience with design validation, including testing and analysis methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a creative approach to design.
