About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer to join their prestigious engineering team in Oxford . This role is crucial for the design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems within vehicles. You will be instrumental in defining electrical architectures, selecting components, and ensuring the seamless functioning of all electrical and electronic subsystems. This position requires your dedicated presence at our advanced R&D facility to engage directly with prototypes and testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical system architectures for automotive applications, including power distribution and wiring harnesses.
• Specify automotive-grade electrical components, connectors, and sensors.
• Perform electrical simulations and analysis to ensure system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical and software components.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant automotive standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive electrical system design.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g., EPLAN, Capital) and simulation software.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical principles, CAN/LIN communication, and power electronics.
• Experience with vehicle network protocols and diagnostics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical initiatives.
