Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and innovative Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer to join their advanced development team in Bristol . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, ECUs, sensors, and actuators.
• Define electrical architecture requirements and ensure successful integration with other vehicle systems.
• Perform circuit design, analysis, and simulation using tools like SPICE and schematic capture software.
• Develop and execute validation test plans for electrical components and systems, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality and performance of electrical components.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on electrical engineering best practices.
• Stay abreast of emerging electrical and electronic technologies relevant to the automotive industry.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive electrical engineering, with a strong focus on system design and integration.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools.
• Experience with automotive power distribution systems and high-voltage architectures is a plus.
• Strong understanding of automotive safety standards and EMC/EMI principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
