Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team based in Glasgow . You will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems and components for cutting-edge automotive applications. This role requires a deep understanding of vehicle electrical architectures, power distribution, and electronic control systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our client's vehicles, contributing to groundbreaking projects within a collaborative, in-office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical system architectures, schematics, and wiring harnesses for automotive applications.
• Specify and select electrical components, including sensors, actuators, ECUs, and power management devices.
• Conduct electrical system simulations, analysis, and validation testing to ensure performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues encountered during vehicle development and production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Ensure compliance with relevant automotive industry standards and regulations for electrical systems .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in automotive electrical system design and development.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures, CAN/LIN/Ethernet communication protocols, and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency in CAD software for schematic design and PCB layout.
• Experience with power electronics, battery management systems (BMS), and high-voltage systems is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team in a manufacturing environment.
