About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their established engineering team based in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is central to the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems for our latest automotive models. You will lead complex engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute your expertise to ensure the performance, durability, and safety of our vehicles. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems, including powertrain, chassis, and suspension, using CAD software.
- Conduct simulations and analyze test data to validate mechanical designs and optimize performance.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing phases of new mechanical systems, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive mechanical design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAE tools for simulation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and vehicle dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
