Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Automotive Powertrain Engineer to lead crucial development projects in Sheffield . This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of advanced internal combustion engines, hybrid powertrains, and future energy systems. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and calibration of advanced powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, and hybrid components.
- Perform performance analysis, efficiency optimization, and emissions reduction strategies.
- Conduct component and system-level testing, utilizing dynamometers and other specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics, software, and vehicle dynamics engineers.
- Manage supplier relationships and technical specifications for powertrain components.
- Mentor junior powertrain engineers and contribute to the team's technical expertise.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive powertrain development .
- Deep understanding of internal combustion engine technologies, hybrid systems, and electric powertrains.
- Proficiency in powertrain simulation tools (e.g., GT-SUITE, MATLAB/Simulink) and calibration tools.
- Experience with emissions regulations and compliance testing.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
