Senior Automotive Propulsion Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Propulsion Engineer to join their innovative and fully remote engineering team. This role will focus on the design, development, and integration of advanced propulsion systems for next-generation vehicles. You will leverage your expertise to drive forward solutions in areas such as electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engines, contributing significantly to sustainable and high-performance automotive technology. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of automotive propulsion systems, including powertrain components and integration.
• Conduct performance analysis, simulation, and testing of new propulsion technologies.
• Develop and optimize control strategies for electric, hybrid, and traditional powertrains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of propulsion systems with vehicle platforms.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in automotive propulsion and sustainable energy.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical direction of the propulsion team.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in automotive powertrain or propulsion system design and development.
• Deep understanding of electric vehicle (EV) powertrains, battery systems, and hybrid technologies.
• Proficiency with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and GT-SUITE.
• Experience with design and analysis of internal combustion engines and their emissions control.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical projects in a remote setting.
