About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Belfast . This role is critical in upholding the highest standards of quality throughout the production lifecycle of automotive components. You will lead quality assurance initiatives, implement robust quality control measures, and drive continuous improvement efforts. This is an on-site position, offering hands-on engagement with production processes and teams. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong understanding of automotive quality management systems and a passion for excellence in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality plans, procedures, and standards for automotive production.
- Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lead problem-solving teams to address quality issues and drive root cause analysis.
- Oversee inspection and testing procedures, ensuring product conformity and customer satisfaction.
- Train and mentor production staff on quality best practices and procedures at the Belfast facility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive quality engineering or a similar manufacturing quality role.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, MSA, APQP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working directly on a manufacturing floor in Belfast .
