Senior Automotive Quality Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their team in Belfast . This vital role involves ensuring that all automotive products and processes meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality control systems, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and design. We are looking for a meticulous professional with a strong understanding of quality management systems and a passion for automotive excellence, who can contribute to maintaining and enhancing our client's reputation for superior product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) compliant with industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
• Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Analyze production data, customer feedback, and warranty claims to identify quality issues and trends.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop and deliver quality training programs to relevant personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• Significant experience as a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry.
• Deep understanding of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).
• Experience with IATF 16949 and other relevant automotive quality standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
