Senior Automotive Quality Inspector

About the Role

Our client is searching for a meticulous and proactive Senior Automotive Quality Inspector to join their manufacturing facility in Sunderland . In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured automotive components meet stringent quality standards and specifications. You will conduct rigorous inspections, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to maintain and improve product quality. This position offers the chance to work with advanced manufacturing processes and contribute directly to the reputation of high-quality automotive parts, working closely with production and engineering teams to uphold excellence within the Tyne and Wear region.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive quality inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished automotive parts.
• Utilize various measurement tools and techniques to verify compliance with specifications.
• Document inspection results, identify non-conformities, and initiate corrective action reports (CARs).
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues promptly.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a Quality Inspector role, preferably within the automotive manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in using measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and statistical process control (SPC).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
