Senior Automotive Software Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Automotive Software Architect to lead the design of complex software systems for their next-generation vehicles in Reading . This critical on-site role involves defining the software architecture, establishing technical standards, and guiding development teams to ensure the creation of robust, scalable, and secure in-car systems. You will work closely with product management, hardware engineering, and other software teams to translate requirements into a cohesive and efficient software blueprint. Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive infotainment, ADAS, and connectivity systems.
• Establish software design principles, patterns, and coding standards for development teams.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for software development.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware and systems.
• Oversee the implementation of software security best practices and ensure compliance with automotive standards.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in automotive software architecture .
• Deep understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and software design patterns.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP).
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive architectural decisions.
• Strong knowledge of software security principles and best practices for automotive systems .
