About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Systems Engineer to join their pioneering, fully remote engineering team. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in the architecture, design, and integration of complex automotive systems, focusing on areas such as powertrain, chassis control, or ADAS. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with global teams to ensure the seamless functioning of cutting-edge vehicle technologies. This fully remote position allows you to contribute your expertise from your home base near Bristol , working on projects that define the future of mobility.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop complex automotive system solutions from concept to production.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, and performance targets for various vehicle subsystems.
• Lead integration efforts, ensuring seamless interaction between hardware, software, and mechanical components.
• Perform system-level analysis, simulation, and validation to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues encountered during development and testing.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a strong track record in at least one major domain (e.g., powertrain, chassis, ADAS).
• Deep understanding of automotive control systems, embedded software, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Experience with system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage complex technical projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, suitable for a remote environment.
