Senior Automotive Test Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Test Engineer to join their vital team based in Bristol, South West England . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for automotive components and systems, including structural, environmental, and performance testing.
• Operate and maintain a variety of sophisticated testing equipment and instrumentation.
• Analyze test data, identify performance anomalies, and prepare detailed technical reports documenting findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues identified during testing and support resolution efforts.
• Ensure testing activities comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, SAE) and customer specifications.
• Mentor junior test engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies and laboratory practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive testing and validation, with a focus on component or system-level testing.
• Proficiency in operating various testing machines, data acquisition systems, and related software.
• Strong understanding of automotive engineering principles, including mechanics, materials, and electrical systems.
• Experience with test automation and scripting is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
