About the Role

Our client is searching for an accomplished Senior Aviation Safety Manager to lead their safety initiatives in Edinburgh . This crucial role involves developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety management systems (SMS) to ensure the highest levels of safety across all operational facets. You will be responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with stringent aviation safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies.
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Promote and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization through training and communication.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations (e.g., EASA, CAA).
• Prepare safety reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Manage safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in aviation safety management, preferably in a senior role.
• In-depth knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles and implementation.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations and risk management techniques.
• Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, or a related field; professional safety certifications are highly desirable.
