Senior Avionics Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Avionics Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in Reading . You will be instrumental in the design, development, integration, and testing of complex avionics systems for next-generation aircraft. This role demands a deep understanding of electronic systems, communication, navigation, and flight control technologies within the aviation context. You will work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to ensure the seamless integration and optimal performance of avionics suites, contributing to flight safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated avionics systems , including navigation, communication, flight control, and sensor integration.
• Perform system requirements analysis, architecture design, and detailed component selection for avionics hardware and software.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of avionics systems, ensuring compliance with stringent aviation standards and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to avionics system performance and integration.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including airframe engineers, software developers, and certification authorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in avionics engineering , with a strong focus on system design and integration.
• In-depth knowledge of digital electronics, microprocessors, communication protocols (e.g., ARINC), and embedded systems.
• Experience with avionics testing equipment and simulation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives in a challenging environment.
