Our client, a fast-paced e-commerce innovator in Edinburgh , is looking for a talented Senior Backend Developer specializing in Microservices architecture. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the robust, scalable backend systems that power our client's digital platform. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy resilient microservices using languages like Java, Python, or Go.
- Build and maintain scalable APIs and integrate with third-party services.
- Optimize application performance, database efficiency, and ensure system reliability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, participating actively in code reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features and improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience, with a strong emphasis on microservices .
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
