About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing SaaS company in Reading , is seeking a motivated Senior Backend Developer to enhance their core platform. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using modern languages like Node.js, Python, or Java.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for reliability and efficiency.
• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code, participating actively in code reviews and adhering to best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and product managers to define requirements and deliver new features seamlessly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, ensuring the stability and availability of the platform.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and the continuous improvement of backend development processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend development .
• Strong proficiency with at least one modern backend language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, C#) and associated frameworks.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with ORMs.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs .
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and adopting new technologies.
