Senior Backend Engineer - API Development

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop efficient database schemas and queries for relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements and ensure seamless integration.
• Implement comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex backend issues in production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Java, Node.js, or C#.
• Deep understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL) and experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, Spring Boot, or Express.js.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies is a plus.
