Senior Backend Engineer (Blockchain Focus)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer with a strong interest or experience in the Crypto & Blockchain domain to join their fully remote team, based out of Liverpool . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and infrastructure that powers our client's innovative blockchain-related products and services. This role involves working with distributed systems, APIs, and potentially integrating with blockchain protocols. You'll have the opportunity to work on challenging technical problems, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate with a talented, globally distributed team of engineers and product specialists in a fully remote setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
• Optimize application performance, database efficiency, and system architecture.
• Integrate backend services with third-party applications, including potential blockchain platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, participating in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system reliability and uptime.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Python, Go, Node.js, or Java.
• Strong experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• A demonstrated interest or foundational understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
