Senior Backend Engineer - Microservices

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to join their expanding technology team in Glasgow . You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and scaling their core backend systems and microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and performant backend services and APIs.
• Develop and manage microservices architecture, ensuring seamless integration and communication.
• Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Optimize application performance, database interactions, and system scalability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Java , Python , Node.js , or C# .
• Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures .
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
