Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for backend services and APIs.
• Develop and optimize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability, ensuring data integrity.
• Implement security and data protection measures, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and product managers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance functionality and performance.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members to maintain high code quality standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong focus on server-side languages like Python, Java, C#, or Node.js.
• Solid understanding of database technologies, both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization tools like Docker.
• Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment within Cardiff .
