Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote engineering team. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and maintaining the scalable and robust server-side logic that powers our client's cutting-edge products. You will be instrumental in architecting efficient APIs, optimizing database performance, and ensuring the overall stability and security of our backend systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code in languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Optimize database queries, application performance, and system architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive and feature-rich applications.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex backend issues in production and development environments.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js) and associated frameworks.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
