About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join their innovative product development team, working remotely from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic for complex applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects using modern technologies and contribute significantly to the architecture and direction of our backend systems. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy robust backend services and APIs using languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Design and manage relational and non-relational databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient querying.
- Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for scalability.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language and associated frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization tools like Docker.
- Solid understanding of database design, optimization, and query languages.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote , agile team environment.
