Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Bids & Proposals Officer to join our Training team, where you'll lead and coordinate bids and proposals for UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) training programmes. This is a varied role that combines project coordination, stakeholder management and proposal development, ensuring bids are delivered accurately, on time and within budget. Based in Yeovil, this is a long term temporary contract.
You'll become the main point of contact for Training bids and proposals, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to produce high-quality, compliant submissions.
What you'll be doing:
Leading and coordinating all bid and proposal activities within the Training department for allocated UK MoD opportunities.
Acting as the main point of contact for Training bids and proposals.
Coordinating information from different departments to produce accurate and compliant bid responses.
Ensuring proposals meet the relevant MoD requirements, including QDC, SSCR and QSC regulations where applicable.
Supporting the design and development of bespoke training solutions that meet customer requirements.
Analysing customer training needs to help define the most appropriate training solutions for both flight and maintenance crews.
Working with colleagues across the business, including the International Government Business Unit (IGBU) Bids Team and external organisations where required.
Monitoring progress to ensure bid activities are completed on time and within budget.
Identifying and recording risks as part of each proposal.
Providing support and guidance to other areas of the Training department on bid-related activities.
Helping deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of customers, stakeholders and the wider business.
Following company health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.What we're looking for:
A good understanding of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and modern training systems.
Knowledge of MoD Qualifying Defence Contracts (QDC), Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR) and Qualifying Sub-Contractor (QSC) requirements.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and presentation software.
Experience of financial and business planning, including budgets and programme costs.
The ability to influence and coordinate teams, even where you have no direct management responsibility.
A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
A good understanding of company procedures, systems and ways of working.
Experience within the helicopter industry or a military helicopter environment would be advantageous
