Senior Bioanalytical Scientist - Method Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioanalytical Scientist to lead their efforts in Method Development for pharmaceutical analysis in Norwich . This vital role focuses on designing, validating, and implementing robust bioanalytical methods (LC-MS/MS, immunoassays) to quantify drugs and biomarkers in biological matrices. You will play a key part in supporting preclinical and clinical development programs by providing reliable pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data. Operating within a hybrid model, this position offers the chance to contribute significantly in the lab while also leveraging remote capabilities for data analysis and reporting, working within a collaborative research environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate sensitive and specific bioanalytical methods for small molecules and biologics in biological matrices (plasma, urine, tissues).
• Perform method transfer activities to internal or external analytical laboratories.
• Analyze samples from preclinical and clinical studies using developed methods.
• Troubleshoot and optimize analytical methods to improve sensitivity, robustness, and throughput.
• Interpret data, prepare method validation reports, and contribute to regulatory submission documents.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to laboratory process improvements.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bioanalytical method development and validation in a pharmaceutical or CRO setting.
• Extensive hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation and associated software.
• Knowledge of immunoassay techniques (e.g., ELISA) is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA) for bioanalytical studies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
