Senior Bioanalytical Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioanalytical Scientist to join their dedicated team in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for developing, validating, and executing bioanalytical methods to support the development of novel therapeutics. You will work with complex biological matrices and cutting-edge analytical technologies, such as LC-MS/MS and immunoassays, to quantify drug concentrations and biomarkers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry and a deep understanding of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles, contributing to rigorous scientific research within Edinburgh's rich academic and research landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate sensitive and robust bioanalytical methods (e.g., LC-MS/MS, ELISA) for small molecules and biologics in various biological matrices.
• Execute bioanalytical studies in compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., GLP).
• Analyze and interpret bioanalytical data, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot and optimize analytical methods to improve sensitivity, specificity, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments, including DMPK, toxicology, and clinical pharmacology, to support drug development programs.
• Contribute to method transfer activities to other labs or CROs as needed.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in bioanalytical method development and validation.
• Extensive experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation and data analysis.
• Familiarity with immunoassay techniques (ELISA, MSD) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of pharmacokinetic principles and regulatory requirements for bioanalysis.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
