Senior Bioinformatician - AI/ML in Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician with expertise in AI and Machine Learning to join their innovative drug discovery team. This is a fully remote role, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the UK. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sophisticated computational strategies to analyze large-scale biological datasets, identify potential drug targets, and predict compound efficacy and toxicity. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and validate AI/ML models for biological data analysis, including target identification and drug response prediction.
• Process and analyze large, complex datasets from various sources, such as genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
• Design and execute computational experiments to test hypotheses and uncover novel biological insights.
• Collaborate closely with experimental scientists to integrate computational findings into research strategies.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and analysis workflows for ongoing research projects.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, AI/ML, and their applications in drug discovery.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in bioinformatics, with a strong focus on applying AI/ML techniques to biological data.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker).
• Strong understanding of biological principles and data types relevant to drug discovery.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for a remote working environment.
