About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to join their expanding research team, working entirely remotely. This role is vital for developing and implementing advanced computational strategies to analyze and interpret complex biological datasets. You will play a key part in uncovering insights from genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data, supporting diverse research programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, excellent programming skills, and a proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote setting, contributing to cutting-edge scientific discovery from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data.
- Perform complex statistical and computational analyses of large-scale biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
- Collaborate with molecular biologists, computational scientists, and clinicians to interpret findings and generate hypotheses.
- Develop and implement novel algorithms and machine learning models for biological data analysis.
- Contribute to data management, visualization, and reporting efforts for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in bioinformatics or computational biology.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with shell scripting and version control (Git).
- Proficiency with standard bioinformatics tools and databases, and experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Strong understanding of statistical principles and machine learning techniques applicable to biological data.
