Senior Bioinformatics Scientist - Remote

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of large-scale biological data (genomics, transcriptomics, etc.).
• Apply statistical and machine learning methods to extract meaningful biological insights and identify potential drug targets or biomarkers.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and computational chemists to interpret data and guide research strategies.
• Design and conduct complex analyses, including pathway analysis, variant calling, and differential expression analysis.
• Contribute to the development of data visualization tools and strategies to present complex findings.
• Mentor junior bioinformatics staff and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in bioinformatics research, with a strong focus on data analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and extensive experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries and tools.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and database technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
