Senior Biologist - Cancer Research

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Biologist to join their vibrant Cancer Research team in Plymouth . You will design and execute complex biological experiments, analyze results, and contribute to the strategic direction of research projects. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct complex in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate cancer biology and therapeutic targets.
• Develop and validate assays to assess drug efficacy and mechanism of action.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and draw sound conclusions.
• Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and other research scientists.
• Contribute to project planning, experimental design, and the preparation of research reports and publications.
• Mentor junior research associates and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

Requirements

• PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related life science field.
• 4+ years of post-doctoral or industry experience in cancer research.
• Proven experience with a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques relevant to cancer research.
• Strong understanding of cancer signaling pathways, drug resistance mechanisms, and current therapeutic approaches.
• Experience with data analysis software and statistical methods.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, essential for a hybrid role in Plymouth .
