Senior Biologist - Cell Culture & Assays

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Biologist with expertise in Cell Culture and Assay Development to join their dynamic research team in Brighton . This hybrid position requires a skilled individual to contribute to cutting-edge research programs focused on understanding cellular mechanisms and developing novel therapeutic interventions. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining complex cell lines, developing and validating robust biochemical and cell-based assays, and executing experiments to support drug discovery and development efforts. This role is crucial for generating reliable data to guide project progression and requires a meticulous approach to experimental design and execution within a collaborative R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and characterize diverse mammalian cell lines, including primary cells and engineered cell lines.
• Develop, optimize, and validate sensitive and reproducible cell-based and biochemical assays.
• Design and conduct experiments to investigate cellular pathways and drug mechanisms of action.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to project teams and management.
• Contribute to the development of new research strategies and technologies within the biology department.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry experience in cell biology.
• Extensive experience with various mammalian cell culture techniques and aseptic procedures.
• Proven expertise in designing and executing a range of biochemical and cell-based assays (e.g., ELISA, Western Blot, High-Throughput Screening).
• Strong understanding of cellular signaling pathways and experience with relevant molecular biology techniques.
