Senior Buyer - Construction Materials

About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Buyer to manage the procurement of construction materials and services for projects in and around Bristol . This hybrid role involves identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials at competitive prices. You will play a critical role in optimizing procurement processes and contributing to the overall cost-effectiveness of construction projects. This is a key position within the supply chain team, offering significant responsibility and influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction materials and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suitable suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contract conditions.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and performance.
• Monitor market trends and commodity prices to inform purchasing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, specifications, and supply chains.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with visits to sites and offices in the Bristol region.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS) are advantageous.
