Senior Buyer - Indirect Spend

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Buyer with a specialization in indirect spend to join their established procurement team in Liverpool . This critical role will focus on managing and optimizing the procurement of non-direct goods and services, such as IT, facilities management, marketing, and professional services. You will be responsible for developing category strategies, leading complex negotiations, and driving value and efficiency across these spend areas. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced buyer to take on significant responsibility, influence strategic decision-making, and contribute directly to the company's profitability and operational excellence within the North West region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies for various indirect spend categories.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and high-quality service delivery.
• Manage key supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure procurement solutions meet business needs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a buyer or procurement role, with a strong focus on indirect spend.
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop strategic recommendations.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics and supplier landscapes for indirect categories.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing at various levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
