Senior Buyer - MRO

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer specializing in Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies to join their procurement department in a fully remote role supporting operations around Sheffield . You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies for MRO categories, managing supplier relationships, and driving significant cost savings. This role requires a deep understanding of MRO procurement, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex supply chains effectively from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for MRO procurement, focusing on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers of MRO goods and services to secure favorable contracts and pricing.
• Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier evaluation, selection, and onboarding.
• Monitor supplier performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand MRO needs and ensure timely availability of critical supplies.
• Analyze spend data and market trends to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation in MRO procurement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement , with a specialization in MRO categories.
• Proven track record of successful negotiation and contract management for MRO supplies.
• Strong understanding of MRO supply chain dynamics and vendor management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage responsibilities in a fully remote setting .
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
