About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Senior Buyer to join their dedicated purchasing team in Reading . This is an on-site role where you will take ownership of significant procurement activities, manage key supplier relationships, and contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of procurement best practices, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive value and efficiency within the supply chain. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services critical to the organization's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned categories, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, conditions, and pricing agreements.
• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers .
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance and quality.
• Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide expert procurement advice.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Buyer or in a senior procurement role.
• Proven track record of successful supplier negotiation and contract management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and procurement best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
