About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and results-driven Senior Buyer to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh , operating on a hybrid model. This role is central to managing key supplier relationships and driving strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve cost efficiencies and quality standards. You will be responsible for complex negotiations, category management, and contributing to the overall procurement strategy. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing and procurement of goods and services for assigned categories, ensuring best value for money.
• Conduct detailed market analysis and supplier performance reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and policies.
• Manage and mentor junior members of the purchasing team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and regulatory changes affecting procurement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a strategic buying or procurement role.
• Proven ability in negotiating complex contracts and managing key supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in a hybrid team setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Must be able to work effectively in both remote and Edinburgh office environments.
