About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their established purchasing team in Nottingham . This role involves managing key supplier relationships, negotiating complex contracts, and driving cost-effectiveness across designated procurement categories. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire purchasing process for your assigned areas, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards are met. This hybrid position offers a balanced approach to work, combining essential in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote working days.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and negotiation activities for assigned categories, achieving cost savings targets.
• Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition to payment.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and new sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to company policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Significant experience (4+ years) in a buying or procurement role, with a proven track record in negotiation.
• Strong understanding of purchasing principles, contract management, and supply chain best practices.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
