Senior Buyer

About the Role

Our client requires a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join their purchasing department in Coventry, West Midlands . You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of materials and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role involves building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize the supply chain and support production demands. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving efficiency and value within the procurement function.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate with, and manage suppliers for key commodities and services.
• Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with relevant departments to forecast future needs.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Buyer or in a similar purchasing role.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and best practices.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
