About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team based in Leicester . This pivotal role involves managing key supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services critical to business operations. You will play a crucial role in strategic sourcing initiatives, contributing directly to the company's bottom line and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sourcing and negotiation process for various categories of goods and services, aiming for optimal price, quality, and delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders across the organization.
- Conduct market analysis to identify potential cost savings opportunities and new sourcing strategies.
- Manage contracts, monitor supplier performance, and resolve any procurement-related issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide expert advice.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Buyer or similar procurement role.
- Demonstrable experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS) are highly desirable.
